Weight Watchers News

Well, I have lost 4.8 pounds. Not a great big loss yet, but a loss. So far, so good. It is a great many vegetables more than we normally eat, so I know it really is better for both of us in the long haul.

Two new things....

I've always said I could never do Weight Watchers because it was too much trouble, it would irritate me and I didn't have the time or want to put in the effort.
However, since I've been using the GoChi Juice the last couple months I feel so much stronger and optimistic I went last night to try out a meeting, and signed up. I do really feel it is the new energy, and I must admit, a reduced appetite from the GoChi that has me willing to give this a shot. I'm really starting to get excited about how good it feels to get a great night's sleep, and wake up ready to get out of bed. I can't tell you how long that has been missing from my life and I didn't really realize until it starting to happen what a difference it would make. I also have to admit that I'm more focused, and even calmer than I had been in a long time.
I do have to use up some of the food in the house....for instance, today I had 20 points, and had used 11 by lunch time eating left overs. Well, I didn't eat all of it, so maybe 8 or 9???? Do they allow you to fudge points or readjust to what you think you ate??? LOL It's Cheerios and skim milk for supper!

Rhea's Biscuit Blanket

The biscuit blanket if finished! I really love the pattern and have enjoyed this project. It went faster than I thought it would, so I'm sure I will be making more soon. I just wish the yarn had some green in it to go better with Rhea's color schemes--I thought it did when I choose it : (
Here is the recipe from "Firefly"s blog for "Firefly's Blue Ribbon Biscuits"
2 C flour
4-1/2 tsp double acting baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
4 Tbsp butter
2/3 C buttermilk, plus you might need a bit extra depending on the humidity, and your flour
Mix the dry ingredients together. Cin in the butter until it is in small flakes or balls. I do this by hand with a fork because you don't want the butter mixed in too completely. This is very important for the flakiness. Gradually stir in the 2/3 C buttermilk. Do not overmix. With biscuits you want to mix as little as necessary to preserve the flakiness.
If the dough has pulled together into a soft dough, you have added enough liquid. If not, splash a bit extra buttermilk (maybe 1 to 2 Tbsp worth) a bit at a time mix JUST ENOUGH to form soft dough.
Turn out onto floured board and knead very gently 6 to 10 times.
Form into a ball; roll out to about 1/2" thickness.
Use a 2" biscuit or cookie cutter cut biscuits out. Mash scraps back together gently and cut more biscuits.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Just took a Personality Test.....try it for yourself!

This was fun, although, there were several questions that didn't really have a correct answer for me, so I just took the closest....interesting, and I think kind of right about me.

You Are An ENFP
The Inspirer

You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends.
You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority and rules.
Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives.
You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!

In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart.
You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. And you do break a lot of hearts.

At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do.
You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.

How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish, and understanding

When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused

Long time....again

Family and work have kept me hopping! I love to relax and knit on the week ends or after work (if I can stay awake after making dinner) so I haven't spent much thought on blogging.
Made the most delicious sloppy joes last night from Rachael Ray's 30 minute meal show called Sloppy Joe Di Magieo (for the baseball play....& I'm sure I spelled that name wrong). I will never use a canned sloppy joe sauce again! WOW...and it was quick!
For now, at least, we are out of showing our Scotties. My beautiful Grace lost two beautiful puppies when they were born premature. Don't know how, or why, but I do know she (or me for that matter) will not go through that again. The Vet pronounced her recovered Monday...so now she is retired, and can just be my baby!
Have some new pictures in Flicker for my Ravelry account. My Ravelry name is Ebiknits.

2007 is almost gone! Thank Goodness

I will be so glad to see this year pass. It has been a difficult year in so many parts of our lives.

The good news is that I have a new wonderful stove in my kitchen, thanks to the generous present of my daughter & SIL for Christmas, and I am having fun cooking & baking! Oh, and I have new Knitpiks needles & lots of yarn....so I'm set for the winter!

Haole makahiki hou!
